Public art stimulates public spaces, which encourage a sense of ownership and pride within the community, acting as a landmark or gathering place. It encourages sport activities and relaxation, contemplation in nature, heightened perceptions and the process of creative thought.
Giants in the City" is a cultural event series traveling exhibit that includes performances and interactive programs committed to attract national and international cultural exchanges to cities all over the world, implementing cultural diversity through the involvement of international, national, and local artists and/or collaborations with community organizations accomplished through our diverse programs:
each year we have the opportunity to be part of local national and international cultural exchanges allowing "Giants in the City" to consistently foster the development of harmonious relationships between artists, through deepening awareness in the arts,
and contributing to the world diversity at vast with a creative monumental message.
OBJECTIVES
To incorporate giant inflatable art sculptures within the city in public spaces, to propound the importance of art in the existing urban landscape. To celebrate the
possibilities offered by this giant format, giving to the community and to the general public a contemporary visual art experience as never seen before.
MANUFACTURE
The designs require a minimum of 2 months to be manufacture.
They are made of Ripstop nylon fabrics and 70 denier nylon taffeta (Tear resistant, windproof and water-repellent) that when deflated are easily packed. They are infl ated and supported upright by a continuous supply of air through the inferior portion
of each piece. A small electric air generator will be purchased to supply the air. The sculptures are extremely light in weight yet are capable of reaching 45" feet in height or more. They inflate and deflate within minutes and are easily transported. The pieces
include tension cables to anchor them and guard them from moving in the wind.
